Job Description Summary
The JR.IT Security Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration and support of ReleasePoint Security Systems plus the monitoring and response to all Security events. The JR.IT Security Engineer will participate within the team to ensure that Security is maintained at all times. The individual will collaborate inside and outside IT to raise Security awareness and maintain a Secure posture.
Essential Functions
• Provides Security monitoring and incident response if needed.
• Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
• Identify and define system security requirements
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
• Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further security enhancement
• Will provide on call and after-hours support, responding to alerts and requests for assistance.
Requirements
Professional Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or related experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience supporting information technology services
• Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems
• Experience in web and Api applications pen testing and reporting
• Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Knowledge on SIEM tool would be appreciated
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Individuals must possess good hardware, operating system and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure protocols and concepts, including routers, switches, firewalls, TCP/IP, FTP, MFT, web hosting, and DNS.
• Basic Knowledge on Compliance would be appreciated.
