About the Department:
Our Science department is an eclectic mix of staff ranging from ECTs to those that have been teaching for over twenty years. We pride ourselves on having high expectations and aspirations for all of our students while delivering fun and engaging lessons. The team has great rapport and is fully supportive of each other and are welcoming to all newcomers. We have secured good results for a number of years and are always looking for ways to be creative and inventive in our approach to teaching.
The department is made up of an acting Head of Department, Second in Department and six teaching members of staff. The department is also supported by a senior science technician and a lab technician. We have 6 fully equipped labs with most staff having their own lab. Staff can teach in their specialisms or cover the full range of sciences. We are fully supportive and will work with you to ensure you feel part of the team and are offered the CPD to enable them to thrive.
You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Your enthusiasm and passion for Science will enthuse the students to love science as much as we do. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals.
