A caring and supportive residential childcare service in South East England is seeking a reliable and compassionate Wake Night Support Worker to join its dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting children and young people, working within a friendly team environment and helping to maintain a calm, safe and welcoming home during night-time hours.
Tasks
The Role:
The Wake Night Support Worker will help ensure the smooth running of the home overnight by:
- Carrying out regular well-being checks.
- Providing reassurance and support to young people if they wake during the night.
- Helping maintain a safe, comfortable and homely environment.
- Completing night reports and handovers for the daytime team.
- Assisting with light household duties such as laundry and tidying.
- Supporting routines and preparations for the following day.
- Attending training, team meetings and supervision sessions as required.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will be:
- Friendly, caring and dependable.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A confident communicator with good record-keeping skills.
- Passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Calm, organised and positive in their approach.
- Must have a full UK Driving Licence.
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards one (essential).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices (essential).
