At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are ambitious in reforming the council to ensure this is a place for everybody. Within the Housing & Neighbourhoods department, we aim to be efficient in everything that we do. We believe our residents deserve a place that is safe, clean and green, with high quality services they can rely on.
This is an exciting time to be joining us as we reshape the regulation of our private rented sector. With over 30,000 private rented homes in the borough and rising expectations following major legislative reform, the Private Sector Housing Service is undergoing a major transformation to become more proactive, tenant-focused and intelligence-driven, supported by expanded staffing and service redesign.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to take on an “entry level” role within the Private Sector Housing team. Whilst the primary purpose of the role is to operate an effective triage of complaints from residents and members and allocate the investigation of these complaints to the team, you will participate in all of the varied workstreams carried out by the team.
You will be the first point of contact dealing with complaints about disrepair, licensing and unlawful eviction and harassment from tenants in the Private Rented Sector which is a vital role in demonstrating a caring and professional approach for the benefit of our customers.
You will gain an introduction to the wide variety of workstreams carried out by the team and offer reasonable assistance to our officers so they may discharge their duties professionally and efficiently.
The postholder will also be required to promote the service across the Council, as well as developing partnerships with colleagues in Homelessness, Housing Options, and Tenancy Sustainment services.
The post holder will be delivering a successful front line and residents- facing service and will be expected to attend the office during normal office hours and work through the day and respond to same day complaints received by the Councils Call Centre, the dedicated Private Sector Housing email box and for personal callers in reception at King Street.
Our mission is to be the best council. To do this we need the best people to help build our vision. If you’re looking to develop your career in a fast-paced, professional environment whilst making a difference, then we look forward to hearing from you.
