Summary:
The Information Security Specialist supports the day-to-day physical security operations at LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. This role assists in maintaining physical security systems, conducting facility security assessments and patrols, supporting investigations, coordinating with contract security personnel, and helping protect employees, visitors, company assets, and facilities under the direction of the Emergency Management Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of physical security systems, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct routine security assessments, inspections, and facility patrols to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in protecting employees, visitors, company property, information, and physical assets through established security practices.
- Monitor, investigate, and document security incidents, security breaches, and policy violations while assisting with corrective action recommendations.
- Coordinate physical security support for company events, visitors, and executive meetings as needed.
- Support the installation, maintenance, testing, and operation of security equipment, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other life safety systems.
- Train employees on security procedures, including badge usage, access control, emergency response, and handling sensitive materials.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and approved vendors to support pre-employment background screening activities in accordance with company policy.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies, including workplace violence, unauthorized access, theft, and other security-related events; prepare detailed incident reports as required.
- Work collaboratively with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and on-site contract security personnel to resolve security concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge of physical security technologies, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, reports, and records.
- Assist other members of the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) team with department initiatives as needed to support overall business objectives.
- Follow all company safety policies, security procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs and position level.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
- 1 to 3+ years of relevant work experience in security, law enforcement
- Experience with physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
- Experience conducting security assessments, incident investigations, or facility security operations is preferred.
