Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult’s Social Worker to join its client’s Community team, based in Dudley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled practitioner to provide professional leadership and deliver high-quality social work interventions to adults with complex care and support needs within the community.
The successful candidate will act as an exemplary practitioner, promoting strengths-based and person-centred practice whilst supporting adults and their carers to maximise independence, maintain relationships, and remain active members of their local communities. You will play a key role in managing complex casework, undertaking safeguarding responsibilities, supporting colleagues, and contributing to service development within a busy Adult Social Care environment.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Managing a complex caseload involving adults with a range of care and support needs, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Undertaking Care Act assessments, reviews, support planning, and complex case management using strengths-based and enabling approaches.
- Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and contributing to Best Interest decision-making processes where required.
- Leading safeguarding enquiries and making threshold decisions in line with Adult Safeguarding procedures and the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal.
- Providing professional leadership, mentoring, and support to social workers, ASYEs, trainees, students, and social care colleagues.
- Participating in duty systems and supporting operational decision-making, including deputising for Assistant Team Managers and Team Managers when required.
- Chairing and facilitating assessment, safeguarding, planning, and review meetings.
- Coordinating, implementing, and reviewing support plans to ensure individuals achieve positive and personalised outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, community organisations, and partner agencies to deliver integrated support.
- Promoting independence through community resources, preventative services, Direct Payments, and Personal Budgets.
- Contributing to service improvement, quality assurance activities, and the ongoing development of best practice within Adult Social Care.
- Maintaining accurate and timely assessments, reports, case records, and documentation in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: Significant post-qualified Adult Social Care experience, including complex case management and safeguarding work.
- Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights legislation, and Adult Safeguarding procedures.
- Leadership Skills: Experience providing professional support, mentoring, supervision, or guidance to colleagues.
- Assessment Skills: Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills with the ability to exercise professional judgement in complex situations.
- Multi-Agency Working: Proven experience working effectively with health services, community organisations, carers, and partner agencies.
- Safeguarding Experience: Experience leading safeguarding enquiries and managing risk within complex adult social care cases.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
