The IT Intern will provide first-line IT support to users across the UK & Ireland business, including retail stores, warehouse and corporate functions. The role supports the day-to-day operation of IT services, ensuring users receive timely and effective technical assistance.
Working as part of the UK & Ireland IT team and in collaboration with European and Global IT teams, the postholder will assist with incident resolution, hardware and software deployment, user administration, system support and project-related activities.
The role provides practical experience across a broad range of technologies and business environments, including Microsoft 365, retail systems, end-user computing and infrastructure support.
The IT Intern will support the delivery of IT services across multiple locations and functions. Responsibilities will include assisting users with technical issues, preparing and configuring devices, supporting store technologies and ePOS systems, maintaining IT assets and documentation, and contributing to ongoing IT initiatives.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the business and external service providers to support business operations and ensure adherence to IT standards and processes
What Will You Do?
Help colleagues resolve hardware, software, connectivity and account-related issues.
Receive, manage and document IT service requests and incidents through our service desk.
Provide first-line and developing second-line support, with guidance from experienced IT colleagues.
Support the setup, configuration and deployment of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and ePOS equipment.
Assist with the installation and configuration of software and technology solutions.
Gain hands-on experience with technologies including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Windows, Intune, MECM, SharePoint, iOS and other business applications.
Support retail stores, offices and warehouse locations with on-site and remote IT requirements.
Assist with technology preparation for new initiatives, projects, store activities and business changes.
Work alongside our UK IT team and collaborate with the L’Occitane Global IT Teams and Service Desk.
Learn how IT incidents are investigated, prioritised, resolved and escalated within a global organisation.
Assist with hardware lifecycle management, including equipment preparation, maintenance, returns and responsible recycling.
Support our sustainability initiatives, including the responsible reuse and recycling of technology in line with WEEE requirements.
Assist with IT administration, procurement and relationships with technology suppliers.
Help create and maintain simple, useful IT guidance and training materials for colleagues.
Follow L’Occitane Group security, data protection and IT policies.
Take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion, asking for help when needed.

Technical experience
Some familiarity with technologies and hardware, specifically Windows, Microsoft 365, mobile devices, networking or troubleshooting would be useful, but extensive technical experience is not required.
An interest in AI and automation tools, and an awareness of how these technologies are increasingly being used within IT and the wider workplace, would also be beneficial.
