We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Technician to join the Inspire Education Group IT Services team, based at Peterborough College. This role plays a key part in supporting staff and students by ensuring desktop, mobile and peripheral technology is reliable, secure and fit for purpose across the Group.
The IT technician is a full time (37 hours per week) permanent role, working all year round.
Working as part of a collaborative IT team, you will provide first- and second-line technical support across multiple sites, supporting a diverse IT environment that includes Windows and Apple devices, Office 365, Google Workspace, and a wide range of teaching and learning technologies. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality helpdesk services, supporting users with varying levels of IT knowledge while meeting agreed service levels and performance standards.
This is a varied and hands-on role offering the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies, contribute to IT projects, and support the ongoing development of IT services across the Group.
We are looking for someone with experience of:
- Providing customer-focused IT support in a busy environment
- Delivering first and second line support via phone, remote access and face to face
- Supporting Microsoft Windows and Apple devices, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Working with Office 365 and Google Workspace for Education
- Supporting a range of hardware including PCs, Macs, printers, projectors, telephony and other peripherals
- Managing and resolving helpdesk tickets in line with SLAs and KPIs
- Installing and upgrading software and approved applications
- Deploying and configuring laptops, desktops and mobile technology
- Working collaboratively as part of an IT or technical support team
- Communicating technical information clearly to non-technical users
- Working flexibly across multiple sites when required
