About the Team:
The Integrated Referral Hub aka Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub is the single point of contact for all safeguarding concerns in Suffolk. Contacts to our team are triaged and MASH assessments are carried out in order to identify risk and provide interventions of varying levels. Most roles include contacting parents and caregivers as well as the many partner agencies working with MASH both co-located and externally.
The MASH is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Working at the heart of a dynamic partnership between social care, police, health, and education, you'll assess risk, gather intelligence from multiple sources, broker support services, record sensitive data, communicate professionally, and help ensure effective decision-making - all within tight timescales.
About You:
You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the processes and systems within the Integrated Referral Hub (MASH) and evidence your ability to work effectively in partnership with a range of agencies. This includes screening referrals and making timely decisions within statutory and local safeguarding timescales, analysing risk from multiple sources to make informed and proportionate decisions on a case-by-case basis, and present clear recommendations that reflect the child’s and family’s journey.
You should have experience of working closely with families, including collaboration with Early Help and Safeguarding Teams, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills and consistently use Lambeth’s Signs of Safety framework including other safeguarding legislation, Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Education Act 2002, and Data Protection Act 2018/GDPR.
You must also demonstrate confidence in undertaking research and applying evidence-based practice alongside professional curiosity to inform decision-making including providing sound professional advice and constructively challenging decisions where necessary. You will also facilitate safeguarding training, share knowledge with colleagues, and promote best practice across the council further contributing to improved outcomes for families.
