This is a hybrid role that requires 4 days/week in our London (Fitzrovia) office
About Lorum
The structural conflict at the centre of correspondent banking is not technological. It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.
Why Lorum
Lorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.
The role
You will own KYB and Ongoing Due Diligence for the hardest clients we take on: financial institutions, MSBs and correspondent banks. That is half the job. The other half is building the systems that run it.
Most KYB functions re-review the same files on a calendar, whether anything has changed or not. We are moving ours onto trigger-based due diligence, where a shift in a client's risk profile drives the review rather than the date on it. That means designing the triggers and scoring rules, configuring the onboarding stack behind them, and testing that what the system actually does matches what the policy says it should.
So this is a builder's role as much as an operator's one. You will still carry complex casework and act as the escalation point for the KYB team on risk-based decisions. But the thing we will measure you on is not how many files you clear. It is how many files stop needing to be cleared by hand.
You will report to Hany Razi, our Head of Compliance Operations.
Lorum is scrappy. You need low ego about hierarchy, an appetite to challenge how things are done, and comfort with direct feedback. Parts of this function are still being built and the boundaries are not fully settled. If you want every case type handed to you with a script, this isn't the role.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Run high-complexity KYB files end to end for financial institutions, MSBs and correspondent banks
Manage the ODD pipeline on trigger-based events rather than fixed periodic cycles
Act as the escalation point for the KYB team on risk-based decisions
Configure and maintain the onboarding stack (Dotfile or similar), including AI-driven document extraction and the prompts behind it
Design and maintain Salesforce Flow logic so data integrity and audit trails hold up under scrutiny
Orchestrate the handshake between onboarding and monitoring (Flagright) so risk data moves cleanly between the two
Translate our Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment into system triggers and risk-scoring rules
Own the rule lifecycle: drafting, implementation testing (UAT), and decommissioning rules that no longer earn their place
Run regular implementation testing so system logic matches written policy
Success in the first 3 to 12 months
3 months. You are running our most complex FI and MSB files independently, with documentation that would hold up if an auditor pulled the file tomorrow. You know the stack well enough to change it rather than work around it.
6 months. You have moved a meaningful part of the ODD pipeline off periodic review and onto trigger-based logic, and retired at least one rule that was generating work without catching risk.
12 months. Manual touchpoints across ODD are measurably down, system logic and written policy match under testing, and our 1LoD controls stand up in a regulatory examination without material findings.
We won't hold you to a fixed case-volume number. Throughput here moves with how fast the client book grows, which no individual controls. What we are looking for is ownership of the system, not just the queue.
Ideal Candidate
Must haves
Deep KYB and ongoing due diligence experience for financial institutions, MSBs and correspondent banks, not corporate onboarding alone
Working knowledge of FCA, FinCEN and DFSA requirements as they apply to financial institutions
Proven ability to map inherent risk to residual risk through technical controls, not just document where the gap is
Genuinely hands-on with the stack:
Salesforce Service Cloud (Flows, mapping, reporting)
Automated KYB or case management platforms
Risk and transaction monitoring engines
Data literacy: you can read transaction patterns and entity data well enough to tune automated risk rules on the back of them
Nice to haves
Dotfile, Flagright, ComplyAdvantage, Feedzai, Actimize or anything comparable. We'll train on our specific stack
SQL, Tableau or Power BI
Prompt engineering for document extraction, or hands-on use of AI tooling in a compliance setting
Correspondent banking, clearing or cross-border payments background
Experience drafting or testing rules against a formal rule lifecycle policy
How we work (attitudes & behaviours)
Low ego about hierarchy. Takes ownership without waiting to be told, influences without formal authority, comfortable with direct feedback
Challenges the status quo. Needs the appetite to say this rule is wrong and here is what I would do instead
Open about mistakes rather than defensive
Customer centric. Compliance here sits close to sales and clients
Comfortable with ambiguity. The function is still being built and team boundaries are not fully settled
Benefits
Flexible vacation policy
Private Healthcare
Employee stock ownership (ESOP)
Flexible working and autonomy
