Job Description – OT Security Engineer (8+ Years Experience)
We are seeking a highly experienced OT Security Engineer with deep expertise in industrial cybersecurity, IoT security, and edge technologies to support secure IT–OT convergence initiatives across manufacturing and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement OT cybersecurity frameworks aligned with IEC 62443 and NIST SP 800-82 standards
- Assess, secure, and optimize Industrial Control Systems (ICS) including PLCs, SCADA, RTUs, and MES platforms
- Conduct comprehensive OT risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance evaluations
- Implement and manage OT SOC/SIEM solutions such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and IBM QRadar
- Deploy and operate OT threat detection and monitoring solutions (e.g., Nozomi, Claroty, Tenable)
- Design and secure IoT platforms including Azure IoT, AWS IoT, and AWS Greengrass
- Architect and manage edge data pipelines for data collection, filtering, processing, and secure cloud transmission
- Define and execute incident response strategies tailored for OT environments
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of OT/IoT devices (PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, sensors), including:
- Device provisioning and onboarding
- PKI and certificate lifecycle management
- OTA updates and patch management
- Design, deploy, and manage secure edge infrastructure, ensuring reliable data handling and secure communications
- Implement Zero Trust principles in OT environments, including device identity (PKI), micro-segmentation, and secure remote access
- Operate IoT and edge orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and IoT Edge
- Manage edge connectivity (5G/LTE, SD-WAN, LAN/WAN integration)
- Oversee edge nodes, clusters, and OS/container platforms (Linux, Windows IoT, Kubernetes)
- Ensure resilience and disaster recovery through geo-redundancy and failover strategies
- Support edge observability and telemetry pipelines (Kafka, streaming platforms, time-series databases)
- Optimize performance, power consumption, and sustainability of edge deployments
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in plant OT environments (PLC, SCADA, RTU, MES)
- Expertise in IoT security and edge architecture implementation
- Solid understanding of device identity, PKI, and secure communication protocols
- Experience with IT–OT network segmentation and Zero Trust architectures
- Familiarity with AI/ML-based anomaly detection in industrial environments (preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational ownership mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with CISOs, plant teams, IT, and SOC teams
- Proven track record in leading security assessments and driving OT security initiatives
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in OT cybersecurity / industrial security
- Proven experience in manufacturing, energy, or similar industrial sectors
