ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of the Internal IT team, a technical anchor to our Head of IT Operations. We are seeking a technically strong and hands-on professional, with at least 5 years’ experience in this role, who is passionate about modernising enterprise IT environments.
This is a newly created, high impact role where you will be comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day infrastructure, lead on complex technical projects, driving cloud adoption, working closely with key stakeholders and the Cyber Security. You will help embed secure-by-design principles, support operational excellence, and identify opportunities for continual improvement. You will also mentor and guide our IT team members, acting as the senior escalation point for complex issues, sharing technical expertise, promoting best practice, and driving innovation across infrastructure technologies to support the organisation's long-term growth and transformation objectives.
You will report to our Head of IT Operations to supportAutocabwith ourkeybusinessobjectivesto achieve the following:
Delivery and maintenance of Cloud Migration of Windows On-Premise Infrastructure
Modernisation of our Network Infrastructure
Delivery of Autopilot v2, Autopatch and other Microsoft offerings within Entra ID and Intune and Microsoft 365.
Implement and support all Microsoft E5 new features – Intune Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), Microsoft Cloud PKI, Enterprise Application Management and Intune Remote Help
Deliver “Best-in-Class” IT Service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Lead the migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based services, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives
- Own and optimise our Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online instances
- Design, implement, and support modern endpoint management solutions including Windows Autopilot v2, Microsoft Autopatch, Intune, Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), Cloud PKI, Enterprise Application Management, and Intune Remote Help
- Act as technical owner for all core infrastructure services including the departing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, identity and access management, networking, and enterprise collaboration platforms
- Support of Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS devices
- Partner with the Head of IT Operations to define infrastructure roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and deliver strategic projects that support Autocab's growth and transformation objectives
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents and problems, providing leadership and guidance during troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities
- Deputise in the absence of Head of IT Operations and our IT Support Technician
Improve and automate our core IT processes such as JML
Improve our end user experience, identifying opportunities for improvement
Improve our reporting within Entra ID and Intune, on user and device related matters.
Lead on the Business’ BCP IT related tasks – Improve backup and recovery solutions, perform simulations and produce reports documenting success
- Develop and maintain on our “Document Everything” policy, with technical documentation, standards, procedures, and architecture diagrams to support operational excellence and knowledge retention
QUALIFICATIONS
We’dlove to hear from you if you meet the qualifications below:
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
Microsoft Certification in at least one of the following – Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
Fortinet NSE 4/ Fortinet Certified Professional
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist
CompTIA Network+
Cyber Essentials Assessor or Practioner experience
