Our client, Telford & Wrekin Council, is seeking a Social Worker for its Children in Care team.
This is a temporary ongoing post.
Paid at £33.30 per hour.

The role will involve the following:
- Children in Care team
- Manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking assessments and developing effective care and support plans.
- Lead on complex cases, making informed decisions around safeguarding, risk management, and child protection.
- Prepare high-quality reports and provide evidence in court proceedings when required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and independent services to implement care plans and support family interventions.
- Carry out timely and evidence-based assessments, reviewing progress and making necessary changes when positive outcomes are not being achieved.
- Undertake preventative and early intervention work to reduce the need for children entering care.
- Hybrid Arrangements: mixture of office and home based
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Fully Social Work England registered
- 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
- Must have significant post-qualified experience in children’s social care ideally CIC / LAC / CLA or similar
